We believe in transparency. Some of our recommendations come with a financial incentive for us — and we think you should know exactly how that works.

The Simple Version

Some links on Sage Curriculum are affiliate links. That means if you click one and buy something, we earn a small commission. You don't pay extra — the price you see is the price you pay. Our commission comes from the company you're buying from.

Why We Have Affiliate Relationships

We recommend products we genuinely believe help our students. Affiliate relationships are a secondary benefit — they don't drive our recommendations. Think of it this way: if a product isn't valuable to you, the commission doesn't matter to us. We'd rather have your trust than a few dollars.

Our Affiliate Partners

We currently have relationships with:

  • AARP — memberships, travel, and lifestyle services
  • 1Password — password management software
  • NordVPN — VPN and online privacy tools
  • Norton LifeLock — antivirus and identity theft protection
  • Medical Guardian — medical alert systems
  • Trust & Will — estate planning and will creation

This list may change. We add partners only when we believe their products genuinely serve our students' needs.

How Much Do We Earn?

Commission amounts vary by product. For example:

  • Some products pay us a flat fee per referral
  • Others pay a percentage of the purchase price (typically 5–25%)
  • A few are pay-per-click (we earn a few cents each time someone clicks the link)

Most of the time, it's a modest amount — typically less than 10% of the purchase price. This isn't a major source of revenue for us. We make most of our money from selling courses.

How to Identify Affiliate Links

Affiliate links on Sage Curriculum are marked in one of these ways:

  • Text that says [Affiliate Link]
  • A note in the paragraph saying “We earn a small commission if you purchase through this link”
  • Explicit disclosure near the link explaining the relationship

Our Promise to You

If we ever stop believing in a product we recommend, we'll remove it immediately — regardless of how much affiliate revenue it generates. Your trust is more valuable than money.

Similarly:

  • We will never recommend a bad product just because it pays affiliate commission
  • We will not hide affiliate relationships to make recommendations seem objective
  • We will be honest if a product has limitations or isn't perfect

FTC Compliance

We disclose our affiliate relationships in compliance with the Federal Trade Commission's guidelines on endorsements and testimonials. Our affiliate relationships do not affect the objectivity of our recommendations.
